To the extent we provide you notice regarding our Service of different or additional privacy policies or practices (e.g., at the point of our collection), those additional terms shall govern such data collection and use.
1.The Information We Collect
(a) Information You Provide to Us.
Use of the Service may require you to save a delivery or shipping address. When you personalize your profile and use the features of the Site, we will collect any information you voluntarily provide, and we may also request optional information to support your use of the Service, such as your gender and other demographic information, including income, education, employment, and marital status (“Demographic Information”).
To enable payment for items purchased through the Site, we collect and store billing and payment information. For example, when you purchase an item, you submit your credit card or other payment information so that your item can be redeemed.
We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose Personally Identifiable Information about visitors under 21 years of age. See Number 9 below for Use by Minors.
(b) Information We Collect And Store. In addition to any Personal Information or other information that you choose to submit to us through the Site, we and our third-party service providers may use a variety of technologies that automatically (or passively) store or collect certain information whenever you visit or interact with the Site (“Usage Information”). We use this Usage Information to analyze our users’ behavior, interests, and demographics to better understand and serve our users. This Usage Information may be stored or accessed using a variety of technologies that may be downloaded to your personal computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone (a “Device”) whenever you visit or interact with the Site. Usage Information may be non-identifying or may be associated with you. Usage Information may include but is not limited to: URLs, pages viewed on the Site, which browser you are using, your IP address or other unique identifying information (“Device Identifier”). A Device Identifier is a number that is automatically assigned to your Device used to access the Site, and our computers identify your Device by its Device Identifier, your Device functionality (including browser, operating system, hardware, mobile network information), the URL that referred you to our Service, the areas within our Service that you visit and your activities there, including remembering you and your preferences, your Device location, your Device characteristics and certain other Device data, including the time of day, and other similar information.
We use various established methods and technologies to collect and store Usage Information (“Tracking Technologies”). Tracking Technologies may set, adjust, alter or modify settings or configurations on your Device. Some of the methods that may be used include but are not limited to, the following (and subsequent technology and methods hereafter developed):
(ii) Web Beacons and other Tracking Devices. We may use other industry standard technologies like pixel tags and web beacons to track your use of our Site pages, or we may allow our Partners (defined below) to use these devices on our behalf. Pixel tags and web beacons are tiny graphic images placed on certain pages on the Site, or in our emails that allow us to determine whether you have performed an action. When you access these pages or open or click an email, pixel tags and web beacons generate a non-personally identifiable notice of that action. Pixel tags allow us to measure and improve our understanding of visitor traffic and behavior on the Site, as well as permit us to measure the functionality and performance of the Service. We may also utilize pixel tags and web beacons provided by our Partners for the same purpose.
(iii) Why and How We Use Tracking Technologies:
- Targeting-Related. We may also use Tracking Technologies in connection with our advertisers that provide services or products related to your interests and preferences identified through the Site and third-party websites.
(c) Location-Based Information. Our Service may use location-based services in order to verify your location, provide relevant content to you based on your location, and to share your location with our vendors as part of the location-based services we offer. If you use mobile-enabled or location-based services provided by BARVENTURE, we may receive information about your use of our Service from your mobile device while you use our Site. This may include information about your precise location if you have enabled location-based services on your mobile Device. At times, we may offer an option to disable location settings; however, adjusting these options may not result in immediate changes to the settings, which are subject to our operations and maintenance schedules. Users should carefully consider the use of such settings to improve information display options and to ensure the settings are properly set and functioning in the manner desired.
Notwithstanding the availability of privacy preference settings, you should be aware that these settings are for convenience only, do not employ complex data security protection and may not be error free. We will only directly provide third parties we work with access to your exact location information if you first give us permission to do so. You should consider the risks involved in disclosing your location information to other people.
(f) Additional Disclosures Regarding Access of the Site Through Social Media Platforms. Certain information you provide through BARVENTURE for public posting, including but not limited to your user name, comments, and reviews, may be shared with other users and posted on public portions of the Site. In addition, if you share information about BARVENTURE items through social media, that information will become public and may be viewable social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter. It is your responsibility to be conscientious about the information you elect to disclose or share.
(g) Information You Provide About a Third Party. You may send someone else a communication from the Site, such as sending an invitation to a friend. If so, the information you provide (names, email addresses, mobile number, etc.) is used to facilitate the communication. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the Site.
Following the one time email, we do not use this information for any other marketing purpose unless we obtain consent from that person or we explicitly say otherwise. Please be aware that when you use any send-to-a-friend functionality on our Site, your email address, mobile number, name or user name and message may be included in the communication sent to your addressee(s).
(h) Information Collected from Job Applicants. If you wish to apply for a job on our Site, we will collect Personal Information such as your name, email address, and phone number, and we may collect additional information such as your resume, gender, and ethnicity.
